Ok let me see if I can explain this without confusing anyone. Right now I have wireless router in my Den on the first floor which is 3 stories below me.......................................well more like 2 1/2 stories, because were I want to do this is in the attic. So right now I have roughly 100 foot run of cat 5 cable going from the Wireless router up to the attic, is there a way I can take my spare wired router and hook it up in the attic and connect another PC to it?

Pretty much what I want to do it use 2 computers up in the attic without having to go wireless or run another wire

If you're running a wire between the routers, it's better to use a hub or switch rather than another router. However, if you must, some routers can work in pairs, you will just need to disable the 'routing' features in one. DHCP and other such features might interfere with each other. Basically, you just want to use the switch portion of the router.

So I can turn a router into a switch? how would I go about shutting the DHCP, do I have to be on the net for that or do i just plug the router in and access it?

plug the router in, access the controle pannel via the ip address of it and it should be an option in the admin panel of the router. You will want to turn quite a few settings off, such as DHPC, firewalls, port forwading etc..

Or if that doesn't work you can spend about £15 and get a proper 4-port switch, i have 2 24 port switches in my room, although i don't come directly from the wireless router downstairs ,i have a wireless laptop acting a s a gateway, using ICS and patching it straight into the uplink port on the switches....

I did try this with a friends router, but it didn't work properly at all, amybe i just wasn't doing it right
