I am running W11 Home with a Gen12 i5 boots from a NVME m.2, added a SATA HDD as a slave now PC will not boot just goes to BIOS and waits for me to show it where to boot from. When I disconnect the SATA PC boots. I know I am missing something which can you Guys please help

Sounds like the sata SSD may be bad but go into the bios and make srue the nvme is set for first boot. Buy my guess is the sata ssd is failing.

As I said, it really sounds like the SATA drive is shot. As long as you told the bios to boot from Nvme and saved changes or actually windows boot manager nowadays instead of the sata then its the drive itself.

There's no 'slave' when it's not IDE.

Sometimes if a device times out or hangs then it will seemingly 'freeze' the system unless removed, which is typically a failing drive.

You can try enabling hot swap or using a USB enclosure to access it on a booted system but I imagine success would be limited.

Thank you I managed to get everything off it. I say slave but it was just a junk file of bits I might need so keep, but its all fixed and running smoothly again I cannot thank you guys enough for your help ;);)
